Super Mario World + Mess Help - Glitching Sprites

Does anyone know of a fix for super mario world?

The world map doesn't appear properly and throughout the levels sprites are displayed incorrectly.

Now i've seen some of the speed runs on youtube and none of those have video display issues.

Can anyone assist?  thank you.

Need more info.

Emulator, I assume?  Video settings are set to what?

My bad,  I'm using Mess and Super Mario World is from SNES.

I just noticed there's a new version of Mess available.  I downloaded that and the vieo isn't messed up any longer, but the sound stutters a bit but the game runs much better :).

I'm not at all familiar with MESS.  I only know of it.  SNES is always best played on ZSNES or SNES9X.
