How to clean you cache on a modified XBOX
« on: December 21, 2009, 05:07:38 pm »
Sorry guys, did a search here and found nothing.
I have an XBOX using slayers 2.7 I believe.
It boots up and right into XBOX media center.
I'm in the process of moving over MUGEN and it says I should clean the cache, I have no idea where to look or how to do it.

thanks

The Xbox has three 700mb partitions on the HDD that are used for game cacheing.  I've never had a problem with it but I guess some people have had unremovable files suck in it?  I forget the drive letters for those but honestly most dashboards by default prevent you from even accessing those partitions so you don't screw them up.  Honesty, I say run the game first and if it doesn't give you a problem, don't worry about it.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot.
I'm in the process of moving over MUGEN now.
I thought prior I had seen an option to easily remove (clear) the cache from XBMC itself.
However looking now I see no such thing.

Reading about MUGEN it says clear the cache prior, but I will try without doing so and see what happens.

The following directories can be emptied (delete all the files inside, not the directories themselves).

E:\\CACHE
X:\\
Y:\\
Z:\\
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Still moving over MUGEN.
For the most part everything moved over via FTP with the exception of about 300 files.
I logged off & then re-booted the XBOX.
I seem to recall doing so prior and when I re-loaded FILEZILLA the files that did not  transfer were showing.
WELL........... this time it didn't do that.
So I went to reinstall the entire MUGEN folder I thought it would give me the option to skip existing files. However it doesnt seem thats the case,
then entire folder is moving again. I assume its simply writing over the existing files ?
None the less fingers crossed I wanna make sure the entire folder moves.
I should get to MUGEN 2nite, same as FBAxxx.

Sorry guys I know off topic, not to do with the cache. (my bad!)
