Monitor problem Mortal Kombat 2
« on: December 20, 2009, 03:32:27 pm »
Hello,

I am helping a friend with an MK2 machine, there is a huge colour distortion running through the middle as you hopefully can see in the pic, this was with it throwing out a blue monitor test

The only question I have is will a degauss help with this problem.

I know I am meant to have a monitor model when posting but I don't have access to the machine and was just checking if a degauss will be useful, before borrowing a wand.

Thanks

Agreed.... definitely a degaussing issue.
Should do some degaussing automatically. I would check into why it's not first and then if need be manually degauss it.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

Great, thanks for the replies, Ill take a look and see if I can see an automatic degausser and get the model number while I'm inside.

misalinged yoke/purity rings can cause the same symptom.

obviously , start with a simple manual deguass , and proceed pending results.
