Need a graphic artist

We have contracted an artist to design graphics for our new system and we are unsatisfied.  Having to pay for work we are unhappy with, we would like to take a different approach.  We are looking for non-copyrighted graphics (originals) for our new arcade system:



We are offering one of our UAII cabinet kits (or $450 in equivalent products) in exchange for graphics...only if we end up liking and using the graphics.  For anyone interested, please submit artwork to sales@mameroom.com for consideration.

What are the exact dimensions you're looking for?

Also, what all pieces are you wanting?
Marquee, side-art, control panel overlay, kickplate, bezel?

can you give a few sentences of what type of graphics you are looking for?
ie, lightinging bolts like previous but new colors. or something classic, or modern, or futuristic... etc?

Otherwise its a complete stab in the dark, which makes it very difficult to get what you are looking for (whether youre paying for it this time around or not)

I'd like to throw my hat in the ring. Is the system called Ultimate Arcade? I'd also echo what was said previously about needing to know the scope of graphics needed... full bleed side art? CP? Bezel? Would these need to remain customizable?

Most freelancers will charge more than what you're offering for what you're asking.  Especially since they know this isn't just going on one item, and in-fact, on multiple.  They will see multiple profit opportunities and view 450 in merchandice as a rather low offer.

If this were presented as some sort of contest however like 'Design the Next MameRoom Logo and win an Arcade System!' then your offer would be acceptable.

I have no doubt that some people will submit art, and hope that you get what you are looking for.  I would personally suggest finding a freelancer, or even professional design group that gauruntees low consultation fees.

And the consultation fee should always, and I do mean always include a discussion between you and the designer about what you want, and a draft or sample or two of how they interpreted that, so you're not paying out the rear end over something you don't want.
