Hatswitch controls and Mamewah
« on: November 29, 2009, 05:51:01 pm »
Hi everyone, this is my first post here and believe me, there will be many more. I'm building a cabinet that uses Mamewah as the frontend, but I'm running into a few issues. I haven't ordered my components yet for the control panel so I'm currently using a Mad Katz sfIV tournament edition arcade stick to do the testing on. I'm using XP and the control stick works beautifully. When I use it within Mame, I find myself having to reassign the joystick values over and over and instead of it using "joy1 up" it gets swapped to "joy 1 hat switch up". So this isn't the really problem, Mamewah is whats giving me grief. The mamewah.cfg won't let me assign the hatswitch values instead of the 'joy1_up'. I just want to cycle through the menu using the joystick but its totally dead. I can assign joystick buttons to do the cycling no problem, but not the stick itself. Is it because it uses hatswitches? Or is this something totally different? Any help would be great.  :-[

Thanks!
