The TRON MAME Project
« on: July 20, 2003, 08:23:52 pm »
Woohoo! Finally have begun the journey towards having my own MAME cabinet and like everyone else I want to share. Not much on the project side yet but by the end I'm hoping my list of tips and my priced materials list will be of much use to folks out there. Comments welcome!

That is one Awesome Marquee.
Mind if I borrow it?

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

Wouldn't mind at all... no good having something like that and spending time on it not to let others partake as well. Actually, if someone else printed it and used it before I did I'd love to get any feedback on how it looks backlit as well. TRON rocks and anything that spreads the love is a good thing.

Thank you much.
It may be quite some time before I get a chance to use it however.
Been quite busy lately with other projects.

I'm not a TRON fan because i have 19 years old but i do respect that game and i intend to play it in the future! :)

I'm a huge fan of 720 degrees! That's a reason strong enough to buy a spinner!

Erm, the rest of the days have yet to occur... though in the next day or two I'll have a mini-update for the painting of the interior sides of the pieces. Also, this weekend I should be cutting out the large pieces and putting laminate on everything but those pieces (which means assembly would start the next session, w00t!). So be on the lookout and will put word of updates here of course.

Figured since I'm 2 more days in and not very far from beginning assembly worth noting updates finally. Supply list is over $400 and the tips list now has a ton on working with laminate and MDF for people thinking about taking on a cabinet project. Enjoy.

My original supply budget more then tripled by the time I've got everything for my cab. $400.00 is just a start :)
