Makvision Monitor Issue?
« on: November 19, 2009, 03:21:04 am »
I just installed a Makvision m3129 in my cab running a ultrimac video card. I'm having some issues with some games causing a black screen once I load them up. It will lock up the computer in a black screen except for the windows hourglass. I can run Super Mario brothers and all neo geo np but once I load up Outrunners or galaga it bugs out. I hooked up a computer monitor and they ran fine. I'm a complete noob at these things as I read through like 20 pages in this forum before posting. what am I doing wrong? Please help as I spent alot of money on this monitor. Here is a video on utube I hope it works so you can see what I'm talking about.

Thanks

So Its supposed to be 680x480 and not 640x480? I also went into the advance display menu and the refresh hrtz was set at 200. I lowered it to 60. So should this be set at? I know a LCD monitor is usually 70 or so. I was figuring mame was not starting the right res for All games as some work perfect and others lock up the system.

ThAnks for the reply

yes 640 x 480,it was a typo
refresh at 60hz i believe is correct-basically the most you want to feed this monitor is standard vga res and nothing higher

Ya it's set at 640x 480 now just don't know if this really is a monitor issue or a software/setup issue. Mrs pacman looks great but galaga blk screens out. I'm using mame32 as a frontend maybe I can try advmame or something else. Just kinda bumed as this monitor set me back a few bucks.
