Joystick plan: support or oppose
« on: November 18, 2009, 03:10:19 pm »
Let me first apologize for starting another joystick thread. I've done a lot of reading though, and here's my plan:
Can I get some yays or nays?

I had 4 iL competition joys on my CP (from 4P TMNT)
-But I want to get nice 4-way support on P1 and P2 (but not sacrifice fighting game playability)
-I dont want to drop huge bucks on 360s
-I wanted switchable from the top, but heard the Mag Stik Plus is a little bogus for fighters.

CONCLUSION
... So I'm OK with 'switchable from down under', leading me to the Sanwa JLW (bat top to match the Competitions at P3 and P4.) I hear good things about them in fighters, even without the octagonal restrictor (which isnt switchable so thats out). Besides, the orig SFII used Competitions (I hear?) and thats a square-y pattern too (like the 4-and-80way switchable Sanwa)

dig?

Also, it looks like I'd need the Sanwa JLW-T for the longer shaft (I cant rout down the wood on my cp and have to bottom mount)

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Ultrastik 360s for Player one and two
Sanwa JLWs for Player three and four

These are a perfect match in appearance (same stick, different guts)
