New 360 to KB/mouse adaptor

This one requires a PC. I wonder if I could just buy a crappy netbook, plug this thing in and be good to go.

I really would like to play FPS with keyboard and mouse on the 360. My son says "I would pwn you at Modern Warfare 2" but I think he would be surprised, as I have played FPS with keyboard and mouse since he was in diapers.

It would also be great to have my Cobalt Flux dance pad and my trusty red PS2 guitar work on the 360.

I can send the crappy netbook with the son when he goes off to college next year.

Weird. Crappy netbooks sell for $300+ new and I can get a refurb laptop for under $250.

EDIT: Used crappy laptops go for under $200 on ebay or craigslist.

Old, but not obsolete.

All this hassle.  You know, the Dashboard/NXE supports any USB for navigation and you can also use a keyboard for Live text communication and MSN.  The only reason that FPS console games do not support keyboard and mice is the devs don't make the little bit of effort necessary to include keyboard and mouse support.

Strangely, Half-Life on the PS2 actually DID support USB mice and keyboards.  Even had a full screen for mapping your keys.  I don't get why so few games impliment such a SIMPLE feature.

Moving along, how much value is there in, what is essentially a fancy adapter, that requires a PC to be fully functional? Besides scripts, this seems a bit of a dead end there.

This reminds me of that X-arcade to 360 adapter.  I am learning XNA Game Studio so the PC is always on, and I'm getting a 360 for development and to play the odd game, so the PC/Xbox 360 on option is always there.  I cannot figure out that instruction manual, which leads me to believe that the PC is the end controller?  So would that be killing two birds with regard to the X-arcade and the 360?

I would like a review or a vid in action before splashing some bucks as this rings of that game frag adapter for the original Xbox, which was total rubbish.  I'm sure there are other options and leaves me to believe that this product isn't the best solution.

I agree with the added code for keyboard and mouse in games, but I read (I think in GAME) that the game mechanics are pre designed for controllers and would have to be totally changed for K/M.
If I had only one wish, it would be for three more wishes.
