Giant 4:3 flat screens in TATE modern, what are they?
« on: November 01, 2009, 08:20:07 am »
I'm always interested in the biggest Pac-Man possible on a flat screen. I visited TATE modern this week, and I ran into several 4:3 big format (32-40 inch or so) flat screens (I guess plasma). Does anybody know what type of screen these are? I tried to sneak up behind, but I could not read any of the stickers and only got strange looks by the guards. Are they still available?

Why didn't you ask if you could speak to an IT person?

I got a whole group of employees set up already by telling the Dutch painter was named Mondriaan instead of Mondrian. He did sign his paintings during his Paris period without that A, but that does not make his name Mondrian. So a whole palet of books is ready for trash now  :laugh2:
So I did not want to bother them with the screens too. BTW, the personal is so arty-farty, they probably know ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- about IT.

Chances are... plasma???

I had a customer (in fact a manufacturer) inquire a few months back about large screen 4:3.

We did a huge search and the only thing we found was a few sources with Plasma... obsolete and clearout.

We advised against it as future support... non-existent.

BTW qty's involved were 100 pcs at a time.

If you are willing to take the risk on Plasma... go nuts.

Good luck

Rick
