Hyperspin Initial Config Question

I posted at the HS forum, but thought I'd post here as well......

So I just got a new hard drive and XP OS upd and running and am VERY excited to get HS running with Mame and other emulators. I just installed the HS so far and wanted to make sure I had it up and running before adding the emulators and what not.

Here is my problem. When I start up HS and let it sit it goes through a nice showing of the various emulators and some videos of the various games from those emulators. Some of the the videos and screens move fast like they should and the sound moves like it should (n64), others like MAME have horrible slow load times and choppy sound and graphics.

I read the FAQs and this could be meaning in need to lowwer my resolution of the desktop, is there a resolution within HS as well that I need to match to that? Are there other suggestions as well?
