My first post... I posted a video on youtube with my questions and they are also below.

Here we go:

A few problems I'm having with my MAME arcade:

1) The Monitor crackles when turned off and on (this could me normal)
2) The Jpac will stop responding and need to be unplugged/replugged in from time to time
3) The screen is a little shaky (could be normal)

The big problem is:
4) The bottom half of the picture is scrunched into the bottom 1/4 of the display.

The Monitor is a 25" KTMF -D

Any suggestions are appreciated. Please be thorough, keep in mind I'm a n00b.

maybe the vertical linearity adjustment will help with the compression issue
the crack when you switch on could be down to the dag earth not connected to the neck or damp around the anode cap
the unstable picture could be down to damp again or the fact that the chassis is so old it could benefit from some nice new electrolitic capacitors
i am wondering if the anode is arcing it could be glitching the jpac-to prove that just power up cab without monitor power and leave on

Thanks for the suggestions. Does anyone know what type of monitor this is? I tried googling as well as looking at the monitor ID sites posted on this board. No luck.

I've tried adjusting all the controls on the separate panel, and I also noticed another white knob on the main part, I'm not sure what that controls.

What is the vertical linearity adjustment? Would it be one of the controls on the panel attached by long wires to the monitor?

Anyone know where I could get a cap kit for this monitor?

if its a ktmf then its a kortek, maybe made in early 90's
the vertical linearity is more likely to be on the main chassis rather than the remote control pcb

Thanks for the help. I think I found the vertical itinerary adustment. When I turned it, the bottom stretched out more, but it's still not 100% fixed and I turned it as far as I can.

Another quick question: The screen seems to be shaky unless I turn the vertical size (I'm not sure of the technical name for it) all the way large or all the way small. I hope that makes sense. Basically, the screen will shake unless I have it setup so the display is way to large or too small for the screen. Do you think if I replace the caps it would help with this?

Where do you suggest I buy the caps? Are there any places that sell specific kits for this monitor?

i think you monitor chassis would benefit greatly with new caps and a check of the solder joints
have you tried bob roberts for a cap kit
