Where to find "old" (Pre 106u2) art for Sega Turbo?
« on: October 17, 2009, 01:58:17 am »
Howdy-

My 115 & 132 MAME builds can't run Turbo nearly fast enough.  My 108 runs it great.  There were changes made in 108u1, 108u2, 108u3, 108u4, & 109u2 that seem to have "broken" Turbo for me & my modest computer.

I'd like to do away with my 108 installation, which is used *just* for running Turbo & instead run it on my 105 installation.

Turbo runs at a great speed on my 105 installation, but I don't get the bezel & LED tach & LED high score displays, because I have post-106u2 artwork.  I can't find the pre-106u2 artwork to get Turbo up & running on MAME 105.  (discussion of 106u2 artwork change, FYI: http://mamedev.org/devwiki/index.php/Layouts_and_Rendering_for_MAME_Artwork_System)

Thanks,
-Jason

I also sent this text to Mr. Do! via e-mail & he had a quick & helpful reply:

"Well, it won't look near as pretty, but attached is the old Turbo artwork file from the old MAME.net."

Indeed...the old artwork doesn't show the nice tach & high scores & such.  Guess I'll keep that 108 installation on my PC just for Turbo after all--oh well!

Thanks,
-Jason
