neotec 2701 mame
« on: October 12, 2009, 10:50:05 am »
I purchased a cab with a neotech nt-2701.  I do not believe it has the toggle for 15khz freq.  I was planning on using arcadevga and jpac to set this up.  arcadevga states that it supports this resolution, but will it still be able to run mame games that use 15khz without this monitor being a multisync monitor?  If not are there any suggestions on how I could use this monitor?

Thanks!

The NT-2701 is a medium resolution monitor. (25khz)
So try resolutions accordingly. I believe the arcadevga is capable of certain medium resolutions but someone else may have to state exactly what.

And no, the 2701 is not "switchable".

2700 - CGA (15khz)
2701 - EGA (25khz)
2702 - VGA (31khz)

Yup, the 2701 is one resolution only and it's a medium res (EGA).

Cool thanks.  So the only thing I am unsure of is the ability to play games that natively ran at 15khz on the 25khz monitor using arcadevga or something.  Would it be able to upconvert those?  Any other options?  Just wondering if anyone else has done this.  Would rather not buy a new monitor.

Thanks!
