I have no idea, but there's one on location nearby and it sure feels like a beast. Is weight an issue for some reason? You still should be able to move it fine with one other person.

i need it to get down stairs through a 25-1/2 inch wide doorway to the basement,...thats why i asked,...size does matter..anyone else who owns something similar like a silverballmania would come in handy with a quick tape measure...

yeah,..on its side would be right,...but the concern would be the size in depth,...as some pins are smaller in depth in the front end,.and get deeper towards the rear..that would give me a problem,..imagine only getting half the machine in/ and the other half wedged outside the door! :banghead:

And then give the PCBs a super close once over to make sure you didn't spray them with shavings... that's a quick way to kill them dead.

I actually saw an SI on location on saturday at Canobie Lake Park.  It was sitting at a row of about 20 new Sterns.

maybe i should buy some lock-picking tools off ebay and pick it myself,..ill just watch some vids off youtube and learn...
heck....id be pissed if i were to drill out the back box key (which the guy says he doesnt know where it is)..just has the coinbox keys in front..And, only to find out the key is somwhere inside the coffin/body of the darn thing!. :banghead:
gotta check that....
if all else fails,...i guess ill have to get a locksmith with a cheap rate...
anyway,..ill post pics up soon of the machine in tow and some extra ...

The key probably IS inside, but hey, that's how it goes.  It's a $2 lock.  Drill it and save yourself the headache.

ok,..heres another question,...lets say your mpu battery goes bad on your original board,..and so you cut the thing off not to further corrode anything else,..so now you look for a replacement battery/ or/ a extention battery box from radio shack and go that route,..i found this battery on ebay,..and the seller says it works on (most) bally machines....hhmmm..thinking about getting that,.but,...the original battery has no volt info or ohm's on it ...nor in the manual either,...so whats a safe way to install battery/ies so i dont blow up a mpu?...heres a picture of the battery from ebay

Cool pinball...but there's just something about a pinball game about a video game that seems just wrong to me.

Is it just me, or does that garage in the lock video looks very similar to FrizzleFried's Asshat Arcade?

UPDATE:..Im doing a full resto on the machine,..i bought a new playfield overlay,..new plastics, I bought brand new "ALLTEK" selonoid & mpu boards,..fires up ,
..but i think the game is stuck in a test mode of some sort,..it goes through the 7 flashing lights on the mpu,.
the heartbeat on the selonoid looks good,.the voltages/leds are on,.
and i hear the sounds ( like if it was gonna start). but ive noticed a few things wrong,..maybe some expert pinheads can help out,..
1) first thing i do is turn the game on,..the opening game sound starts,..so far so good,.

2) then i press the self test switch one time,..and only two lights on the playfield flash on & off
all the bumper lights and the top 4 lanes stay lit as well. some bulbs need replacing..(need LEDs)
3 out of five score displays light up like this--> (8 88) another one has this,.--> ( 89)

3) then the FUN part kicks in,..i go by the manual and press the self test some more for selonoids, score display doesnt work right,.end game sounds, etc,..then i push the start button on the coin door, and it starts to chime in like a crazy parade,..ALL the sounds start repeating over and over, even after i push the self test button,.
I cant seem to stop the machine from going bonkers,..for example,..when i push a lane wire down,..the left bumper starts knocking,.when i hit a target, something else happens somewhere else on the playfield,..crazy eh?"

I "think" but im not sure 100% that the wires are crossed somewhere, and the lamp driver & aux driver is shot and needs to be replaced.

4) the backbox rotating lights & and the lights behind the alien backglass
are not tuning on,..
as you can see guys,...its almost there but not quite,.
OH yeah,..one more thing,..

4) i was leaning on the machine and felt some mild static along the metal side rails,..i think there is a ground loose somewhere . but i cant find anything present,..
I have the manuals for the mpu, selonoid, & space inv ..but the troubleshooting parts doesnt tell me about the locked sounds going on at once, and the stuck in test mode..HHHHEEELLLPPPPP!

any helpful hints or suggestions are appreciated,..

I'm really confused too. You need to collect your thoughts and start over.

First off, you post a video of the alleged machine you bought. In that video, the machine looks damn nice and works perfectly. You say right on the video that the video is of the machine you are buying.

How do we go from that, to you buying Alltek replacement boards, the thing not working, and it needing a whole new overlay and plastics?!?!?!?!?!

Lastly, please use complete sentences and proper punctuation. Your 'random' thought process method of posting makes you really hard to understand.

ok,.let me start over,..
1) i just used the video of that machine as a reference. i just like the way the video looked,..
2) i am reading the pinrepair guide..its helping in some areas...
got most of it done,i just need to get it out of (TEST) mode..
all the sounds are overlapping one another,..and the game wont start.
(my main problem)
what i think i need,..
 A shrink.. :dizzy:
And then,..a drink  or two.
im gonna get a ALLTEK lamp driver board, & an AUX board as well..
3) what i noticed was a bunch of taped up wires by the "power supply" under the playfield..

First things first then, you need to crack out the pinrepair guide section "when things don't work". You need to crack out your DMM and verify ALL of the power connections.

Here is probably where your problem lies. It doesn't get much easier than a guided step by step path.
