Samsung TV shows odd purple colors when turned on it's back

Hello,

I have a Samsung TV installed in my cabinet, I'm working on. Because of the design of my cabinet the television has to rest in an angle. When I do this the screen shows all kinds of strange purple colors , the more I turn my TV the worse it gets. The colors turn out fine when I leave the TV in a upright position.
Guess there's no other way then to search for a new screen for my cabinet ?

Set the TV at the angle you want it to be in and leave it OFF for awhile.... THEN turn it on and see if it self-degausses.

An hour is more than plenty of time for it to cool off.

Then I guess it didn't help. Guess I'm going to look around for an tft screen. I hated configing everything from a TV screen.

OK I think I found a replacement for my 19,6 inch Samsung Hitron TV.
Would Acer AL1916W 19'' be a good idea ?

Do you plan to use it vertical or horizontal?

Only Horizontal.

I have that Acer for my main PC. It's terrible. You do not want that for your arcade cab.

You use a manual degausser on it.  There are details in the Wiki.

Is there any thing in your cab that could be interfering with the TV ? Such as unshielded speakers , electronics or something in your work area. ?

Not really.
If I take the TV outside of the cabinet and flip it on it's back it's doing the exact same thing.

in a crt  (cathode ray tube) the electron beam is moved about the screen via electromagnetism ( deflection yoke)
in a colour ctr, there is a very fine mesh ( shadow mask) through which each electron beam must pass.
beam landing refers to the beams striking the proper phosphor dots.
altered beam landing results with incorrect colours.

changing the position of the crt in relation to planetary magnetic field alters beam landing.....
deguassing ( demagnetising ) will restore proper beam landing in almost any orientation... until position changed 

this is NOT mystical, magical stuff here .....
electronics is "simply" controlling the motion of electrons from one atomic orbital shell to another .

Did you know that if you put an European TV upside down in Australia you get a good picture, but not if it is straight up! Also because of the reversed Earth magnetic field.
