Seeking RED Joystick Dust Cover
« on: September 27, 2009, 10:52:28 am »
Long story short,  I purchased a BLUE and GREEN "competition" set of sticks for my CAPCOM cab... they came with BLUE and GREEN dust covers.  After realizing the GREEN looked like ass I decided to go with RED.  Instead of waiting for ever and a day for LIZARD LICK to ship me a RED IL stick,  I ordered a RED HAPP Competition stick from Tornado Terrys.  They use the exact same handle... unfortunately,  I found out when I received them that the HAPP Comp sticks come with BLACK dust covers.   So I have a BLUE stick with BLUE dust cover and a RED stick with a BLACK dust cover now.

I have two options:  Go with black dust covers on both or find a red dust cover.  I'd rather find a red dust cover.

Does anyone have a spare red dust cover for a COMPETITION/IL type stick?

Are the dust washers under the cp? If so then it wouldn't need to be perfectly cut and you could probably just do it yourself if you've got a Tap Plastics or similar out there. Funny you mention that because I was thinking of doing just what I'm suggesting for my DK last night. The one I got from prok is very nice, but the hole for the joystick shaft is a tad oversized and since I'm kind of AR, I was thinking of making my own to get a tighter fit. :)

Good call - get some nice metal ones done to match, or alternatively just spray the existing dust cover with a plastic-based spay like plasti-kote, which is available in loads of colours.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Hmmm.....that's funny. That was my first reply, but somehow I must've messed up and it didn't get posted.
