disc/image formating
« on: September 26, 2009, 10:43:20 pm »
Does someone have a tip on a good and (ideally free) simple to use image reformating program?

Such as if i want to convert nrg to cdi, or cue and bin to iso?

I have no interest in burning, and thats what a lot of the programs seem to be designed more to do.

Check out ImgBurn

http://www.imgburn.com/

It can read disk images into various formats, then turn around and write to disk or an image file (in other formats)

I seem to recall using this to convert a few ISO's and IMG files awhile back.

it's free

ill look into it.  Ive been reading and fooling around with various programs with no luck yet.

I was just trying Bin2boot which makes bin files bootable images for dreamcast, (CDI) but even though it produces an image just like it says it will. these images are not accepted by nulldc for whatever reason. Although as a general rule Null DC works great for me (outside the FE anyway)

3DO games seem even more confusing to me because out of 8 games, i can only get one to load pass the bios, and thats Brain Dead 13. It seems freedo ONLY takes a straight up, no funny business ISO.  If anyone has specific experience with this one, id appreciate it.  You can PM me if you prefer.

The program you recommended did work for "Need for Speed" ISO + "Need for Speed" CUE.

Thanks

But it did not work for a combination of "Out of this World" BIN + "Out of this World" CUE.

If anyone has additional guidance specifically applied to dreamcast or freedo formats, I'd like to know of your own experiences.

nevermind on the 3do. I have it all figured out I think.

But I'm still having issues with some dreamcast games (any that arent cdi format) and converting them to cdi format that will then play.
