Bartop kits in UK?
« on: September 25, 2009, 07:54:59 am »
Hi all,

Not new here (last build was the arc-eden project, ages ago). However, I now want to build a bartop and was wondering if you guys may know of  anywhere in the UK that offers the just the wood kits?

Cheers guys

Hey Ras,

Lucky for you http://www.turnarcades.co.uk sells awesome cabs!! I have checked that site out many times drooling over some of the kits being sold. Now the problem for me is that I live in Canada and thus not willing to pay a ton for shipping and such.... Check em out the "classic series Bartop" is priced as follows.

Pricing Information:

Full Machine - £450
Regular Kit - £225
Bare Wood Kit - £100

Let me know how you make out!

i am not hot on the bartop design at all.in fact it is plain and is uninteresting, probably has a crt inside it and that dictates what the end look is going to be.

£100 -postage is decent price for a bartop, you know its going to fit nice and cut down a lot of woodfilling/sanding (perhaps) you usualy get from homebuilt projects.but,£100 for an unimaginative cube does not get me hot at all.

i went and walked the streets and went round the back of retail units and found the mdf and carted it home piece by piece for the project i got going now and i think it looks inspiring, imaginative and i hope that someone might draw inspiration from it.

if you got the tools and the time and a good imagination you will be suprised what you can build:

just from top of my head.
:)

Hi Saleem,

Yeah, I just don't get a great deal of time these days so figured buying a kit may save time... it would, but having seen yours, I recall the hours of pleasure I had building my UAII based cab, arc-eden.....

I think I probably will end up building from scratch.... lol!!!!

thanks guys
