Pots found on NT-2701 monitor chassis...
« on: September 24, 2009, 11:28:35 am »
Can you guys give a good description of the use and adjustment of the following labeled POTS found on monitor chassis'?  The monitor these labels come from is a Neotec NT-2701 Medium RES 27", but I figured other users might get benefit if these labels are common among most chassis'.  Thanks, and forgive me if this has been discussed.

MAIN BOARD:

HPOSI      (Obvious, but should you start with this one or the one on remote board to correct Horizontal position probs?  Does it matter?)

H-OREQ    (Frequency?  Not a typo... what is OREQ?)

X-RAY      (Sounds "very scary" to me, lol!)

V-LIN       (Vertical Linearity???)

ADJ          (Not kidding... just says "ADJ"... adjust for what? Lol!)

PINCUSHION BOARD:

PHASE       (guess it's used in conjunction with remote POT for pincushion adjustment?)

NECK BOARD:

Group #1 (top of my neck board)
R K
G K
B K

Group #2 (on side of neck board)
R GAIN
G GAIN
B GAIN

I know some of this is obvious, but I also know that things that SEEM obvious are sometimes not the complete picture.  So can some of you gurus enhance my knowledge and the knowledge of others before we get these adjustments out of whack?  Thanks so much for your time!  :notworthy:

Main:
R112 B+ adjust

R314 Vertical linearity

R418 X-Ray shutdown (overvoltage safety shutdown, factory set, do not tamper with)

R403 Horizontal Frequency sub control (in series with the horiz hold pot on the remote board)

R499 Horizontal position sub control (in series with horizontal position pot on the remote board)

B+ adjusts voltage right?  Manual says for NT-2701 B+ should be 113.50VDC @ connection of R117/R424, but I am not sure where to place probes from meter for a reading before adjusting it?

Is vertical linearity the "straightness" of vertical lines or rows of pixels? EDIT: OK, kind of like vertical position, right?

What is "H-OREQ"?  (Still looks like it should be frequency... but here's a pic):

Is this that 27-E labeled chassis?

Schematic is labeled H. FREQ ........ so most likely a screen print typo on the chassis.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

It's at position R403, and my schematic has H.Freq like yours, but the pic in the manual with the board layout shows H-OREQ, lol, just like the chassis:
