Xbox racing cab.
« on: October 09, 2009, 01:15:40 pm »
Thinking about making a xbox racing cab out of an old crusin world cab.  What wheels and pedals would be good to use? And would mame racing games work good with this, or should i stick with original xbox games?

Build an Outrun 2 cab! :D

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Introducing The Tone Ledger, a premium 5x7 inch, 100 pg notebook designed for guitarists, bassists, keyboardists...pretty much anyone who enjoys using amps and pedals. Great for experienced musicians, hobbyists, or students just getting started.

+9000!

Oh and make sure you have an externally accessable ethernet port so you can network it to another Xbox for Outrun 2 multiplayer. :D

That is very nice but way way more involved than i am going to get, just want to plug in a nice steering wheel to a modded xbox, mount the steering wheel and pedals to the already built cab and be done.  Just need a good plug and play wheel and pedals for original xbox, and if it works with mame racing games even better

If you can still track down a fanatec wheel for xbox, they are for sure the best.

Edit: I see some Fanatec Speedster 3 ForceShock Racing Wheels on ebay still, I'd recommend those.

It's been awhile since I played with MAME on an xbox, but you can configure the inputs, so I don't see why it wouldn't work.  Be sure to post back if you track down a wheel and start the build.
