Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade: 1991!
The 1991 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade was pretty boring, but it did feature appearances from Captain (((
Nugget...I mean....))) Planet, Donatello and Wednesday Addams. Kelsey Grammer, too. Can't forget Kelsey. Ain't right to be like that. (11/21/07)
That's the latest article, mind. Special parenthetical comment mine, of course.
From Wish Books 1985 edition:
I'd imagine that kids do get some level of enjoyment from browsing virtual toy stores and constructing lists that way, but to me, it's kinda blah. I grew up as part of the Sears Wish Book generation. Amazon and its fellow online shopping plazas will always seem a little cold and detached to someone who knows the unbridled glories of curling up on the floor with a 500-page catalog packed with every wonder known to man, woman and child.
I totally disagree. I felt distanced looking in catalogs. Like they depicted places you weren't sure were real, or that had stuff you might not actually find in the store (which was probably true for many items, which was why there
was a catalogue....but still). I find online browsing way cool, and would've ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- my pants back then over it.
Of course, in my junior high years ('83-85), I really loved the idea of 'hey, I thought this up.....pooof!....there it is!!'. I'm still interested in this....and apparently it may be possible, according to
