Help me find a chassis?
« on: September 20, 2009, 08:36:39 pm »
Hello all!

I currently have 2 tubes and am hoping to find a chassis for one (or maybe both) of them. My 2 tubes are a Samsung A68KVL74X02 and a Panasonic M68JUA128X. Now both of these tubes had identical Hong Eun chassis (I posted about these earlier). Neither of the tubes would boot with either of the chassis. I assume that both of the tubes are good (not sure if I can test them or not?), but if they are I am hoping to find a replacement chassis to get a monitor into this machine. I would imagine having identical original chassis that whatever replacement I find should work on both tubes? I am reading about some Wei Yas and another company's 666a, but am un familiar with chassis so figured I'd ask here.

I don't really use this machine much, and am rather strapped for cash, so saving is nic,e but I don't want absolute crap in return. For a reasonable price I'd pay the difference to go with the tri-sync over the standard.

My issues here is, I am not sure exactly what chassis will work with my tubes, nor do I know where is a reputable place to buy these for a fair price. As for that matter, what the hell is a fare price? I figured that buying somewhere local would be good incase the tubes are dead and I want to try to return it, but I have a hunch that this is something Betson and East Coast Amusements are not going to sell. So, are there any website reccomendations here?

Any information would be great,
Anthony

get yourself a multimeter and an inductance meter then you can read the yoke values and match a chassis perfectly
