MtC 9000 Not working HELP
« on: September 17, 2009, 10:54:44 pm »
Been working on my MTC9000 and the big white resistor was getting red hot and the monitor was not powering up. I followed Randy Fromm's flow chart and did everything it says and today I put a new flyback in thinking  it would solve my problem, but it didn't. When I turned the monitor on the fan on the MTC9000 chassis turned on for a bout a second then stopped and the monitor is still not working. The resistor is still going red hot and on the left side of the resistor (SP4)the voltage reading is 20 volts dc when it should be  +130 and on the right side(SP3) it reads about 159 volts dc. I put a new HOT in already and a new voltage regulator transistor. Any ideas why it worked for a brief second then died again and why I am only getting 20v dc when I should be getting 130 v dc?

did you replace the insulation strips behind the transistors?
