Monitor tube swap question.
« on: September 16, 2009, 03:44:01 pm »
I'm trying to do a tube swap on a wg monitor. The replacement tube is also 8 pins but the neck is a different thickness.  Should I just keep the existink yoke?

Please specify which monitor.  WG made many of them.

Measure the yoke resistance and compare the two yokes. Are they close ?
Yellow/Green are a pair.... Red/Blue are a pair.

Should technically be an inductance measurement, but resistance will get you in the ballpark to know if they are even remotely close.

I replaced my K7000 19" tube with a 21" tube. It came out of an ASDA cheapy TV DVD VCR combi thing. the scan coils read exactly the same value as the WG ones.

There are a few pic on how I did my swap here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=95323.msg1015645#msg1015645
