Skee Ball Dip Switch Lock?
« on: September 13, 2009, 02:53:08 am »
Hello everyone, first post noob here.

I have a Skee Ball classic machine that I bought off of Ebay several years ago.

It looks much like the staple one here (well it did before I made some modifications to it):

Anyway, I have the schematic manual (let me know if anybody needs this, I can scan it) and I know what is assigned to all 8 dip switches.

Problem is, changing the dip switches does nothing.  It appears that the settings are locked in and flipping them doesn't change anything.  For example, I can change the last 2 switches which increase the number of coins per credit and it still always requires one.

The reason I want to change them is that I want to put the machine in program mode.  I need to modify the number of points needed to trigger the "winner" alarm (currently set to a ridiculous 50 points).  It actually gets pretty irritating when you hear it every game, lol.

Hopefully there's some stupid easy answer that I am unaware of like "Oh, did you flip the dip unlock switch?"  My biggest concern is that the current settings are somehow hard coded in and cannot be modified.  That would stink.

Thanks for any and all help.

Dipswitch number 4 needs to be OFF.
And any other dipswitch changes will only go into affect after cycling the power.
Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.
