U5000 getting darker and light during play
« on: September 12, 2009, 04:19:15 pm »
Got my Golden Tee Fore working and everything.  Whe nit first starts up, the very left edge of the monitor is very dark.  as the game goes on, it gets to be ok.  Then later, the darkness will come back, or the other end of the screen will get really light.  What is this from?

Quite likely, bad caps.

U5000 are pretty easy to cap; there are a lot of them, but the chassis is a pretty easy pull.

i haven't seen a full cap kit on Mousers list.  If I was to piece it together, do I just go off of the listing in the manual and get one of everything?  Are there certain ones I should do or not do?  I know I've seen a c kit or two on ebay, I just don't know if I should go the ebay route, or some other way.  I have never capped a monitor before, I do have a pretty decent soldering skill though, so I know I can do it, just kind of don't know where to start.  Thanks for all the info though Peale.

Unfortunately no one has provided a complete list yet.  Since you have one, maybe you can provide the list to me!
