ghostbusters control panel
« on: September 09, 2009, 09:18:11 pm »
hey all, i messed up my control panel when i built it and decided i would design the graphic before i construct this time. soo this is what ive come up with so far.

i really wanted a time crises arcade box but decided to settle with my back up of ghostbusters. i like this but i feel like it is missing a few things. any help with ideas of what else to add would be awesome. im not very creative in this department, sadly. the track ball is white and the upper, middle right pushbutton is black and i think i might move it out alittle bit to the right or buy a white one for it. as well, all the buttons are going to be red for both players

Personally, I like it better without the "who you gonna call".

Yeah, to me the 3D rendered look of the marquee doesn't really go that well with the cartoon styled control panel...  Probably should go one way or the other with the style.

Also, IMO, the title on the marquee is way too small.

There are definitely lots of trackball options, colours, and back lit ones.

I'm liking the direction you're going.

On the marquee, seems like the lettering may be a little too transparent in places.  It's pretty hard to read...  When I first looked at it all I saw was "Ghostbus ers The Video."

Another approach you might play with is you could use less (or no) transparency on the lettering and put the top edge of the letters behind the ghost's top teeth, so it looks like he's taking a bite out of them.  Just a thought...

Looks great!  It's just enough transparency that it gives the illusion that the ghost is passing through the letters, but at the same time they are still readable.

Good work!
