Hey fellas.
Quick question. I'm considering replacing my 19" PC monitor with a shiny, new Wells Gardner D9200. But I've got a few questions.
1. I know the D9200 has the VGA output, but do I still need to search out some specific model video card to deal with the mHz issue?
Any card will do if you just want the regular pc resolutions. If you want the special ones, like 288x240, I'd recommend arcadevga. Or use advancemame with a compatible card. FWIW I use the AVGA and it's cake.
2. Happ promises the D9200 doesn't need an isolation transformer. Is there any other hardware I DO need, like a mounting chassis, or some other power consideration?
I didn't need anything additional, I bought just the regular d9200 from americangaminginc.com (owned by WG I believe)
3. Does anyone know the max resolution? I've read both 640x480 and 800x600.
the max resolution is 800x600. for some reason WG has 640x480 on their site, but trust us its 800x600
4. Does anyone know the difference between the basic D9200 Happ offers and the special, Golden Tee Fore version, which is almost $50 cheaper? Perhaps it's the available video modes or connector?
I have no idea. Most of us get the regular one, I guess.
5. Can't imagine what shipping would run on this monster. Any guesses?
shipping for me was ~50 clams.
6. Finally, does anyone have any other random advice to offer regarding this particular monitor?
buy the regular version, the arcadevga and download the utils from ultimarc.com. You get the absolute best of both worlds and it's easy to setup. For more info do a search on advmame vs arcadevga or advmame w/d9200 or similar such searchstrings.
