Alternatives to R4 for the DS...
« on: September 03, 2009, 03:32:32 pm »
I purchased an R4 for my son's DS a long time ago... Great card.  never had issues.

I'd like to purchase another card, but all the drama around the R4 is crazy... fake sites.. fake cards.. etc...

What newer cards do you suggest?  And what web sites do you feel comfortable ordering from?

Thanks for the help.

I got an Acekard 2i about 2 months ago and it's great.  Works with DSi too.  Here is a list of authorized resellers:  http://www.acekard.com/distributors.php

I bought mine at modchipcentral for $40 with a 4GB mini-SD card.  http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/home.php?cat=37

I got a DSTT and a Acekard 2 a couple of months ago. Both of them work great. If I had to choose I'd say the Acekard is better but the DSTT is easier to use if your new to the scene.
I think http://www.dealextreme.com is by far the cheapest place to get them. Shipping is free but it takes about 2 weeks to get to you. For twenty bucks you get get both cards and a couple screen protectors.
