Trials HD
« on: August 18, 2009, 01:13:29 pm »
I bought Trials HD on Xbox Live Arcade the other day after trying it out at a friend's house. I have to say that I'm addicted. The game is great, and well worth the the 1200pts/$15 price. If you have an xbox, try out the Trials HD demo and see if you like it.

It has that fun, simple, addictive quality about it. If anybody already has it, let me know. I'd like to add some friends that have it to get more scores on my screen.  :applaud:

i played the demo of this the other night, it was pretty fun...it kinda reminded me of an updated version of Elastomania.  funds are a little tight right now, but i think i will definitely pick this one up before too long

Say goodbye to your availability Namco; Trials HD is the biggest single addictive game I've come across in years and certainly the surprise title of the year. I'm extremely happy sales have been strong, it's now over 300K in sales, very strong for a DLC game less than 2 months old.

The demo is insane fun.  I think $15 is a little overpriced.  If it was $10 I'd bite in a second.  I did pick up Shadow Complex at $15 though and I LOVE it.  It is a shameless ripoff of Super Metroid (one of my all time favorites) but executed to perfection.  I can't get enough of this game.  XBLA has been on fire with some of the releases this year.  Braid and Geometry Wars 2 were great too.

Trials plays great on my Street Fighter 2 arcade cabinet because it can be played solely with the d-pad and face buttons.

It is a let down after it starts to get impossibly hard... like everything past the medium levels.

I agree about Shadow Complex. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Being a Super Metroid ripoff is one of the good things. That's my next purchase on XBLA unless by some miracle Goldeneye were to come out before I get a chance to buy it.  ;D

The developer even said he wanted to make it like Super Metroid, as that was his favorite game.

Shadow Complex is awesome, at at $15 its a steal of a game.

Both Shadow Complex and Trials HD are worth their $$$. IMHO, knowing just how awesome Trials HD is, I would not have hesited to pay $50 for that game.

Difficulty level after medium:  I hear you, I've not completed the hard levels yet but I can provide a hint though:  check out the leaderboards for those tough levels and check out the top player's instant replays. That's how I started getting better.  Even if the game is kicking ---my bottom---, it's the main reason why I love it: old school gameplay that's hard and rewards skill.  When you finally finish one of the hard levels, it's quite rewarding.
