yep, and you can't download them from mame marquees. Money whores
That's not really a fair thing to say. MAME Marquee is in a business to make money, not to offer up bandwidth. From what I've seen from the few marquee sellers, they all have a little something to offer that their competitors do not. Sometimes it's better quality prints, materials, services, whatever. Once in a while, they have a piece of art that isn't found anywhere else in that condition. When that happens, it's generally not in their best interest to offer up the artwork they likely worked hard to prep for download.
I don't necessarily like it, but given that our options are often limited, it's something that I can contend with. Cleaned up art and reproduced for a few bucks or I can spend a few weeks hunting down a particular piece of art. Then weeks or months to maybe scan it, maybe touching it up, maybe vectorize it, find a suitable printer, find suitable materials, etc. etc.
Worst comes to worst, hit up eBay, buy the original marquee, scan it in, touch it up and away you go. Sell the marquee back on eBay when you're done.
