What kind of monitor is this?
« on: August 09, 2009, 04:47:36 pm »
I hope I can use this monitor for my test rig.

http://mrcade.com/test_rig/

Do I need to be aware of anything before I turn this on?

What you see beside the monitor is a mspac harness / power supply with no isolation transformer.

The little rgb plug form the pacman is turn backwards so it only looks like it might work.

Should I cut that and reverse it?

not sure what you're testing, if it's jamma boards then make sure you have a jamma harness.

r,g,b,sync, and ground should be going to the monitor.. check the monitors manual for the correct pin locations.

the jamma harness will have those pins on it.

make sure you have power to the monitor going though the isolation transformer.

the power supply does'nt need to be run on the isolation transformer, you can if you want but not needed.

EDIT: oh i see you need help identifying the monitor, that i can't help you with.

it looks very similar to my jen shinn chassis, note the manual degauss switch on the remote board
anyway looks like a perfect test rig monitor and is almost certainly 15khz only

looks like a free range chassis also due to the fact i can see a transformer in the primary psu area

the chassis will have a label somewhere stating the voltage etc

Yep here is the sticker http://mrcade.com/test_rig/stickers/DSCN3059.JPG I ended up cutting the plug and reversing the wires. Ms Pac fired right up.
