Here is the cabinet I finished a little while ago.  

Scratch built. 3/4" MDF
27" Eygo Monitor w/ smoked plexi
PIII - Plays most games
Curved Marquee and 2 player control Panel
1/2" birch ply with 1/4" lexan for control panel top
All bolts hidden under lexan
3" Imperial trackball
All admin functions done thru shift function of IPAC
Operating Coin Door
Chrome T-moulding
Party On as a front-end, simple and keeping with the style of the 80's games.

Thanks a lot for the help I got on this site!

To do:

Add a spinner - I found MAME looking for Tempest Cabs.

Looks alot like what mine is going to look like when I'm finished. Got everything got but still need to populate the control panel. Can't afford the controls at the moment...

Go with Bob Roberts,  he was the best price and great, fast shipping.  I got all of my controls thru him except for my two wico 4-way leafs; got them thru e-bay.  I still need to find the dust cover things for them.

Dust cover? You mean those black plastic disks?

I have two 8-way leaf sticks that I traded for. I plan on ordering the rest from Bob Roberts. Too bad he doesn't sell perfect 360's. I'll have to order those from Happ or get them from someone here.

Yeah those discs that cover the joystick holes.  I know I can probably get them from Happs or Bob but, that's all I need and shipping would probably suck.

Happ charges exact shipping.  No cheezy handling charges.  My last order (3 joysticks, 12 buttons, 2 coin mechs) had less than 11 dollars shipping.  Then again, it might be expensive if you're outside the States.

You mean diamond plating? I know they make the heavy-duty kind, but they also make a thin one with adhesive backing that is mostly for looks. Don't know where to find it, though.

Would certainly be cheaper and easier to work with, though.

Oh, I know all of the sources for diamond plate.  I had plans of putting it all over my cab.  My control panel in diamond plate would look cool.  I still might get some for accents though.  I made the diamond plate pattern in the marquee after looking at sources for it all night.  It's not very cheap though.
