ArcadeDepot cocktail cab monitor suggestions
« on: August 04, 2009, 11:58:03 am »
I'm putting this together finally and so will be needing a monitor. I'd love to use a proper monitor rather than chuck a cheap flat panel in it but am scared off by the scary stories of prices and electrocution!

Could I get a new or reconditioned arcade montor in the UK for max £200? And fit it safely myself.

Any tips advice, monitor suggestions greatly appreciated.

What are you putting in the cab?  Mame or a dedicated game?  If mame you'll likely want to find sonething like a Wells Gardner d9500 if it takes a 19" display since it supports all the game resolutions that you'll likely care about. You mght have to find a used or new-old-stock one since they stopped making them. I'm sure there are many other options. Hopefully some others will chime in.

I managed to get one on eBay, but the haven't been showing up much there. I got two more by posting in the buy/sell section of the KLOV forum that i was looking for them.

Good luck on your search!
