Galaxian Multi-Kit, who's interested ?
« on: July 30, 2009, 05:53:31 pm »
I've been mailing with Mike Coates who is the creator of the Galaxian Multi-kit.

This kit allows you to play 18 different games, all based on the original Galaxian hardware. So NO emulation.
It also does high-score saving (which is the main reason I want it). Note that some games require 4 way joysticks and I think one or two require an extra button. I'm not going to hack my 2-way joystick, but there's still plenty of 2-way games to play.

Here's all the info about it:

http://www.arcades.plus.com/multigame3.htm

The kits have been sold out for some time, but Mike is willing to do a (small) run of PCB's if there's more interest for them (read DEDICATED interest).

So, hands up please, who would be interested ?

Funny you say that - I've also been emailing him about another possible run.  I was helping him sort his PCB fab issues.  My only issue at this moment is funding, otherwise I'm 100% interested.

andre, i take it you have to own a board for this , you're just buying a mod chip or something like that?

EDIT sorry it looks like you can get a board too, or was that just on the previous run he did?

yeah i'm good man, got three weeks off work so happy days, weathers a bit ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- though.
i think you've had the effect of making me want original boards, i seem to be browsing them alot recently, hmm i was happy with mame until say oh march ;). i nearly bought pacland and i'm on the point of buying one of them jrok things if they're stll available. and this board has scramble on it
 :hissy:
this could get expensive particularly as my favourite game is bubble bobble, always the bloody way with me , if i like it it turns out to be the most costly.
how's everything with you in rotterdamland, hows my star wars doing :D
