TV Strech problem
« on: July 28, 2009, 02:03:01 pm »
Ok so Ive been searching around for an answer but not coming up with such luck

Im planning on putting my Panasonic CT-25L8G Into my cabinet (yes a TV booo srry lol)

Im using the s-video out of my video card and using an Svis->rca adapter into the tv.
it shows up and actually looks fine.

Im just having an issue with it being a bit to streched out.

When a game is in full screen it cuts off the sides and a but of the top..

I have tried a couple of resolutions with the same luck ;/

Any idea?
I also could find any way to adjust this on the tv settings..

thanks!

there are diagnostic menus on most modern tv's..

this however is'nt always easy to get to, try searching google with your tv's menu.
sometimes this is a series of key presses.. and sometimes it's a signal only a special remote will transmit.

you may however beable to fix this with software, look in your cards display properties im sure it has a section for tv out, sometimes they'll have screen adjustments.
Anyone got change for a dollar?

what card do you have?

did you look and see if there was a check box to apply settings at start up? or perhaps a way to save them?

as a last resort you could have a macro make the adjustments for you.. something like autoit could do it, this is a pretty dirty fix, it would work but would'nt be a very clean solution.. as you'ed see the computer making adjustments during start up.. ugly but effective.. again last resort.

fixed it.

updated the card driver and it had a new looking nvidia control panel.

did the adjustments and this time it stayed after a reboot :)

Things are running great now.. only ran into one problem.
had the machine running stand alone for a little while and for some reason the computer turned itself off..

check to see if it was trying to power save or go into hiberate or something..but nope..

played on it for a while and nothing happened..

hope it was just a fluke!

congrats on getting it worked out.

random reboots are weird, could be a lot of things..

anything from a loose power connector, to a faulty power supply, to a motherboard with leaky capacitors, to an software fault, or even cpu thermal protection (although if it's idle that most likely was'nt it)

keep an eye on it, once is a fluke if it happens again you know you got a problem.
