Has anyone ever played/seen this thing?  Whip controller?  I've loved Castlevania since the NES and I'd love to know if this thing is any good.

That looks like the same cabinet as the Silent Hill arcade game.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

Not really, just a similar idea.

I played this in Japan a couple months ago when I was there on vacation with my girlfriend. They were in several arcades around there.

It's like house of the dead but with a whip for player 1, and player 2 has a sword or something. It was difficult to hear the music because the arcades there are so damn loud. I love Castlevania's music. We managed to get through the first boss, the grim reaper in about 5 minutes or so? I forget exactly.

As to if it's any good, well, in my opinion it was okay. Fun for a play through or two. I wasn't all that impressed with the motion control. I'd have to say the music and graphics were the best part.
