Hi guys, I've managed to get MAMEWAH up and running like a dream, and I can view all my MAME rom's flawlessly and effortlessly.

Now, I want to put my other emulators into it. Easy enough, I link to the executable and the rompath. But it doesn't actually come up with any roms?  :(

Am I required to link to a certain gamelist dat file like I was with MAME?? The documentation seems somewhat skimmy on this point, and I haven't been able to find anything on the net to help solve it.

I'm trying to run GENS (windows GUI version, is this ok?)
ZSNES
NESTER
and NeoRageX

I'll probably be adding more in future too. Thanks for any help.

Dammit! I swear I tried that a hundred times, and now that you told me to do it it works...   :-\

Big thanks for the help though.

So I don't waste a thread, anyone know where I can obtain some SNES screenshots?

And is there anyway of "renaming" the roms so that they have the full name of the game, not just a acronym (e.g. SUPMAR1) I'm aware if I change the name it might affect the screenshots.

Thanks.

get the GoodTools, such as GoodSNES, GoodNES and so on, use GoodWindows to run all these easier, and if you use zipped roms you'll need zlib.dll or somethin like that.

just do a google search and you can find it all easily.
it renames the roms and seperates dupes and such, it will put the roms in a folder with in the roms directory and they will all be renamed correctly. any that it doesnt reconise and such stay in the normal rom directory tho so you may want to sort through those also and see if theres any dupes or maybe there non working ones.

Cheers man! Worked well.

Only problem is, it named all the roms with [o1] codes after it. (e.g. Super Mario (u) [o1].nes or something along those lines)

These extra [01] lines, which I assume mean's they're overdumped or country codes or something... do not match up with the Screenshot filenames. Is there any (fast) way I can remove this tagline? (e.g. configure GoodNes to do this for me?, I couldn't find anything in the documentation) or do I have to do it manually? I've got quite a few roms, so it may take awhile, heh.

I also have been unsuccessful in getting MAMEWAH to load the roms (through NESTER) when they are selected. It comes up with the message "Error opening rom file" and freezes. I have to close it through the task manager to get it to work.

Also, GENS doesn't seem to be working well either. Any reccomendations for other good FE friendly Genesis emu's? Or GENS FE that i've been hearing about?

IMO Gens is THE Genesis emulator atm...it does work in MAMEWAH.  An even better choice is GensFE, which will quit on an escape press.

One thing to make certain with with either of these builds, is to set the 'Show Dos Box' option to 'Yes'...otherwise you will just hear sound but no picture.  From memory you need to set 'Send ROM Extension' to 'Yes' as well.

Wow, that worked like a charm.

I feel like an idiot for not trying out this beforehand. Thanks for the great help and awesome frontend :)

Does anyone know of a version of Nester and Project 64 (or other equivalent emulators) that allow quitting when the escape key is pushed? Both of these default to a minimized window.

You can use a program called Oscar's Renamer to easily rename those files. ( http://www.mediachance.com/free/renamer.htm ) It will allow you to do an edit replace on filenames and apply the changes with a single click.

Cheers Stuzza, oscar tools was a great help. :D

I have another question relating to Mamewah... It seems that when I load another emulator from Mamewah, (mainly Gens and Nester) it seems to have a wierd resolution bug (i.e. half the screen will shimmer backwards at stages.) When I play the emulators normally however, this doesn't happen. I think it has something to do with the switching of resolutions between Mamewah and the emu. I've looked at changing a few settings, but nothing has helped so far.

Any ideas?
