Opinion on scart tv for Mame
« on: July 10, 2009, 11:32:33 am »
I have found a used Widescreen crt Tv 50hz with RGB scart socket (sharp 32jw73h) for sale, which i am thinking of buying to use with my ArcadeVGA with mame. Would widescreen crt tv support the native low resolutions for mame and do they have any known issues.

tv will work, but the card wont do the resolutions for things to be square on the screen without ou makeing them since all the res's are for 4:3 screens.

You could put the screen in 4:3 mode and not use 1/4 of the screen but thats a waste really

If you could get it very cheap then just ahead and try and see what happens.  At best you will get a 4:3 native res image, which combined with the inherent quality of the monitor itself should look quite nice.

I wouldn't use this for a classic cab though.  Much better to use this sort of thing to play the new generation of arcade games.
