Artwork request $$$ paid
« on: July 09, 2009, 12:43:29 pm »
Hi all

Not been here for a while, up to my eyes in the arcadey / bar project I mentioned a few months ago. Things have moved on somewhat - we now have three floors, 1 = lounge with a few games, 2 = Coffee / Bistro and 3 = Restaurant.

For our marketing, we need a suitable image for floor 1. I have attached a jpeg of what we have for now, but the imagerey isn't any good.

Keeping the same kind of layout for text that we have (these are filler ads for the phone book, so they don't appear in any particular section and have to be resizeable depending on space) does someone want to take up the mantle to design something suitably iconic for The Lounge?

You can view our temp website @ www.chaptersdouglas.com which has some copy re each area of the building.

What I am looking for is something relatively free from copyright although artistic licence is allowable, in the spot yellow used in the attachment that would work in different sizes / aspects etc

Will pay for time and artwork either paypal CHAPS or BACS, whichever is easier.

Only prob is deadline. I need this in a few days.

For more info, bearing in mind I'm in the Isle of Man (UK time), email me @ adrian@chaptersdouglas.com

Thanks!

Adrian

Not necessarily, but it has to be a stock spot colour. I think there is yellow, red, blue (like in the gif) and white. Bear in mind the page itself is yellow... and thin as fck

What is the theme you are going for, and why do you want to use newspaper yellow as your only color. If this is not what you are referring to could you possibly match that to a pantone that you would like?

On to the theme, I could whip something up for you, I need:

Font for your bar
What you see on the final add
Current art ( do you have anything for the final site? )
Color code (very important)

Optional:
Good photos of the establishment
High Quality logo files
etc........

Not much is on this site that I have done, but I worked with a sign design and distribution company, so I have a wee bit of know how;-)

* Just finished this site for a friend a month ago - www.annaberentsen.com

Bass is right, colour code is EVERYTHING!

I would not go for yellow. I would take your logo on your website (which is cool!) and use that. I could whip up something for you using that, but I wouldn't feel comfortable using the yellow thing as it doesn't go with your whole look.

The logo looks classy, you don't want to crap on it with a monstrosity. You want something luxurious looking as people will tune into that and associate your place with it. trust me, make the effort.

I have been organising dinner and dances for about 2 years now and in that time I have doubled the amount of people that attend because I provide them with a higher perceived value using good looking and quality tickets, newsletters, flyer's, business cards and decorations. In return I can charge slightly higher and have more people attending effectively selling out everytime!

If I can help I can help you out or if Bass needs assistance if he wants to do it on Saturday as I should be home most of the day (which is quite rare now).

Great progress and I will have to pop in when it is done!

Thanks guys for the comments.

The ads above are not the main ad for the business. That's half-page full colour, anything and everything I like.

These are 'fillers'. I don't know if they have them elsewhere, but our Isle of Man phonebook has lots. Basically I am stuck with a small selection of available spot colours and I can have only one. They are the yucky yellow, white (doesn't look fantastic as pages are paper thin), red, green (nothing like the logo), or blue (again, nothing like the logo).

I could swap to red.

I will collate everything together and sent font info etc etc asap in any case to you both if that's OK?

Cheers
Adrian

I'm really sorry guys, yes I am procrastinating... I am up to my eyeballs! I will get everything together, and revert to this thread, I'm sorry for the delay and will get it all sorted asap.

While I am here though, quarterarcade.com are AMAZING in everything they do. Got the new machines today and well, they are 1,000,000 times better than you could ever expect. You pay your money, you take your choice - but these are better than new.

Recommend them for the rest of time. They ARE that GOOD.
