CPWizard Exits Game
« on: July 01, 2009, 05:41:27 pm »
Hello everyone.   I am using MAME 128.    When I pause the game, the CPWizard menu comes up, so that part is working correctly.   However, every time I either hit the exit button, or else navigate to exit on the CPWizard menu, it also exits out of the game I was playing.   Anyone have any ideas why it's exiting the game too?

Let me know if you need any more details.

Thanks!
-Mark

After it happens can you post your CPWizard.log file.

I apologize, stupid mistake.  I didn't realize that my Exit key I had set was the same key I use to exit MAME games.  So that was the reason.  I am now having an issue with the game not unpausing when exiting CPWizard.    I saw a few other posts about this,   one said I needed to recompile MAME and apply  bezel_0129u2.diff, but the link was dead for that file.

I have Mame .128.   Do I need to get the new mame and recompile with all the patches again?   Or is this something simple I am missing as well.

Thanks

The latest version of CPWizard allows you to unpause Mame without compiling a custom version of Mame.

The thing you need to check is make sure the key you use to show CPWizard (default 'L') is different to the pause key in Mame. So leave the pause key for Mame 'p' and use a different show key in CPWizard or set CPWizard show key to be 'p' and make Mame's pause key something else. Then in the CPWizard options use the "Message System" method under "Pause Options" in the Mame tab.

You can read more about it @ http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=74091.msg970782#msg970782

Ok, I guess I was wrong.  Apparently it is still exiting the game/mame when I exit CPWizard from the menu. Attached is my log file. I was playing with the options tonight and I could not get it to work.

I did however change the pause key to something else for mame, so that part is working correctly.  Now I just need to fix the exiting issue and I think I will be all set.

Let me know if you need any more info headkaze.  Thanks for the help!
