(SOLVED)JAMMA wiring question----Credit input polarity

does anyone know if the coin 1 & 2 inputs on the JAMMA harness are looking for a + voltage, and if so is it 12v or 5v, or is it looking to be grounded, I would test both but would hate to damage my  JAMMA boards,
my cab has a credit board attached but it is dead and im going to take the coin door wiring straight to the jamma harness (pins 16 & T) to make the coin credits work.

The coin inputs on JAMMA are just switch inputs like the joystick and button inputs.  That is, connect the common terminal of your coin switch to ground and connect the normally open terminal to the coin inputs so that when a coin is inserted, the coin input is momentarily connected to ground.

Do not apply a positive voltage to these inputs, especially +12V.  +12V will likely cause board damage.

I finally got it to work after much cutting of cable ties and chasing of wires in looms (damn!! cabs are dark inside) and traced the coin door and JAMMA edge connector wires back to the credit board shorted and soldered and hey presto     I have credits appearing   
but now the screen refuses to go even on the JAMMA board so it looks like a new chassis    oh well
am still going with the PC/ArcadeVGA/JPac problem   
will reinstall arcadevga drivers tonight and see if that helps
