Dual video (monitor+projector) help needed

Here's a puzzler for you all:

My cocktail MAME cabinet is going to be used at a party this weekend, and the idea of having a tournament came up.
We want to be able to take the output from MAME and send it over to a projector as well as having it displayed on the actual monitor as well, so everyone in the room can watch what's going on gameplay wise.

Should be simple, except for the fact that I'm using an ArcadeVGA and a standard res arcade monitor inside the cabinet, and the projector is going to be expecting standard PC VGA frequencies, not arcade monitor frequencies, so we don't think it's going to work.

The arcadeVGA card has a DVI out as well as the VGA out, it seems that one disables the other, depending on whichever cable is plugged into the card.

So has anyone ever done this before?  Any ideas?

Does the card have simple composite video output that you can use on the projector instead?  Kinda a quick and dirty solution, but effective none the less.

nope.  it's an arcadeVGA card.  VGA/DVI outputs only.  And apparently only one at a time.

The card in the photo on the site has an ATi video output port between the VGA and DVI. o.o

well, that might just work.  it'll look like ass, but it may get us where we need to be.

Version 2 cards display a cloned image - in this case the VGA output will be at 15khz, and the DVI will be at 31khz. Simultaenously. It's made to do that.

interesting.  i thought I had a version 2 card. (it's AGP anyway) but when I attached the DVI connector, it knocked out the VGA connector and vice versa.  I could not get them both to display at the same time.

haven't yet tried the svideo either, but at least I have a few options to play with.  I'll report back once I get it all tested, just in case someone stumbles upon this thread in the future...
