MK2 Cab. Want to Add More MK PCB's
« on: June 29, 2009, 11:20:00 am »
I have a dedicated MK2 cab and want to swap a new mk pcb into it. I have heard about different harnesses... What is the easiest mk game i can put into the machine with the least amount of modification. Are there any mk games i can plug right in? I was hoping mk1 or umk3....

I think MK1 will go in.  Some of the other MK gurus can chime in.  UMK3 has a run button, so it wouldn't be a direct swap.

MK1 should be simple enough. But UMK3 will need some modification I think. Not 100% sure what....but MK3FAN or one of the other MK gurus will smell the MK goodness in this thread and chime in soon enough Im sure. hehe

MK1 doesn't drop in nicely either.  It uses a different control scheme pinout.  It will work, but the buttons will be incorrect.

MK3, UMK3, and WWF Wrestlemania are plug and plug. you just have to move the jamma edge connector and kick harness  from one PCB to the other. MK1 uses a different kick harness.

Any jamma PCB will drop in and work, each player will use HP, BL, and HK as their buttons. My nephews have no problem playing NBA Jam on the MK layout.
