MAME132 Touchscreen games
« on: June 26, 2009, 03:33:46 am »
Been trying to help someone else figure this out and I actually hadn't setup 132 yet, so I threw it together quickly and can not get the Megatouch or Touchmaster games to recognize the touchscreen.
Versions 128, 130, no problem.
I noticed the "Toggle Crosshair" option in the User Interface was no longer available in 132. And that is the only difference I have come up with as of yet.....may not have a darn thing to do with it, but there is usually a crosshair visible for me during those games. It'll pop up briefly and then disappear now. And even while it's there I can tell that the touchscreen isn't recognized.

Can anyone clue me in on what else I may be missing?
Do the update .diff patches have a fix/change for this? (which I don't know how to install yet anyways)

Forgive me for sounded ignorant.....but I am.  ;D
(I don't keep up with MAME stuff well)

Ok, I think I may have figured out what all needs changed in order to get these to work with a touchscreen again. What a pain.
Let me just say this is EXACTLY why I haven't tried to keep up with MAME.
Gonna take me a bit to narrow down the gagillion .ini and button configuration changes I went through. (I'm sure some of it wasn't needed)

It seems to be ONE extra switch needed now for whatever reason.
So not only did I enable lightgun under Core Input Options like always.... but I also had to enable "dual lightgun" under Input Device Options. (never had to do that before)
Now I will say this is what I had to do without installing the two updates, 0.132u1 or 0.132u2, so I can't say if anything changes with those. I'm tired of reading text files trying to see what all has changed and where....so if anyone else can answer that question it would be appreciated.

Just a side note...... by turning the dual lightgun option on in order to get the touchscreen to respond it also now effects how the mouse options work. Can no longer use the regular mouse to select games, etc, just acts weird. Turn that option off and the mouse works normally.
