rain , rain, go away!
« on: June 22, 2009, 12:02:14 pm »
I am so sick of rain!!!!
I mean it seems like it has been raining for over a month or more.
Garden looks great but I am sick of working on it with mud sticking to my boots and adding a good 10 pounds to each foot.
weeding has been a real pain
The other day It had stopped long enough to till the garden... Of course it started raining as soon as I started. I tilled in the rain.
Plants sure loved it. 3 days later they doubled in size.

My riding mower is broke down . I am trying to work on it .
I stepped out side and boom it started raining. I stand at the window waiting for it to stop.

When it did , I ran out and got the deck off. Start to take one of the blades off and boom thunder storm! I am back at the window singing Rain, Rain, go away come again some other day

Well I just wanted to rant.

In STL, we have been getting it about 2 out of every 3 days it seems lately. But one area will get 2 inches in a half hour, another will get hardly anything. Then the sun comes out and turns it into a sauna. We're supposed to be in the mid to upper 90s all week now.

No monsoons yet eh?

We had quite a bit of rain a month or so ago, now just a random storm popping up here and there. (central Oklahoma)
But for the most part it has been HOT/Humid and fairly dry for awhile now.
I haven't gotten squat caught up around the yard due to one extreme or the other.

just got back from the bank...one hundo according to their sign. Not to mention about 95% humidity and zero breeze...beauty of a day.

Really? Man, I lived there for 13 years and always had too much. It flooded all the time. That's crazy to hear you say that.

And the best part is that it's an iced over hellhole for 4 months out of the year!  I seriously cannot fathom why anyone would willingly live in that climate.

Can't think of anywhere I'd rather live...September through December. But like noice, this is where my $24K/year seasonal job is...what can I do?

No no. You live in Phoenix. We've had rain down here three or four times this half of the year. Though recently there was hardly any, the overcast brought the temp down to 75, made it moist and pleasant, and only today is the temperature rising again. But I'm cool with it either way.

Didn't it flood like ---fudgesicle--- last year in the greater part of Texas?

They got a lot and it moved up here into Oklahoma, as well.

We had a hurricane last September, but rain has been well below normal since then.

I wish the rain would come back. I hate having to actually water my garden and other plants. 2 torrential downpours a week between the hours of 8am and 5pm, M-F. Preferrably Monday and Thursday. Is that asking for so much?!?

It has been raining here for over a week straight almost 24/7.  Light rain but it just isn't stopping.  I don't mind it but lots of people around here just can't stop complaining about it.

We're having 100°-103° temps for several days in a row. I would welcome that rain here, Chad.

Hmhmhmh. I start running the AC when it gets above 75 in the house. Of course, I didn't at all run my heater last season.
