25k7193 Jail Bars - will a cap kit fix this ?
« on: June 19, 2009, 03:17:31 pm »
I have some bars on my 25 WG monitor. It only affects the back ground and not all the time on every screen. The monitor picture is quite good except for the lines. I used a camera phone so the pix are not the best.

I looked at other posts / pictures of jail bars and never saw any quite like this. Is it normal to run through the background image only and not the on screen characters ?  Quite simply put, do you think a cap kit should fix it or might it be something else ? Thanks !

Sorry to break it to you like this - those aren't jail bars.  Not monitor ones at least.  You have a board issue.

Agreed..... those don't look like monitor "jailbars", they look like a graphics glitch.

Do you have another JAMMA board to throw in there?

Try carefully re-seating all your socketed chips on the game board.

It isn't a standard jamma type board with visible chips. I guess it's called an "A & B" board like this-
This is the first Coin-op I ever bought with this kind of set up, don't know much about it at all. Anyone got any tips  ???

try a different JAMMA game

and what you have is a Capcom CPS2 system

I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

The 2 boards come apart. You need a Torx security bit in order to get the screws off to get to the chips. It's a shame. MVC is my favorite VS. game.   Good luck with this. If you need help locating a bit PM me and I can point you in the right direction.

These are perfect for you tommy. One thing however I need to look and see if the screws are set inside the board. I guess a better way of saying this is making sure the screws aren't recessed (a hole than a half inch or so of space before you see the screw.) If they are then those bits will be too short to reach. In a few hours I will go home and check for you and I'll let you know. At any rate peale I will order something from you as I need to replace  some torx bits that I have misplaced. How fast do you ship.....
