I ran into this vid... and I must say,  wow.   She is Funky and sweet on Bass,
has a great voice, and is pretty easy on the eyes too    :)

 Had to share this.

I agree!   She's got that bass down and has a very nice voice.  It's unique to see a woman playing bass like that too and singing... it doesn't happen all too often.

Indeed. A very nice player. Light on the fretboard and very tasty articulations. She sings good, too, although I prefer altos.

I know it's mincing words, but if it happens at all it's not unique.  Unique is a superlative.  One of my pet peeves.

Here's some bass + singing that is a bit out of the ordinary.  I caught this guy opening for another band a couple years ago in Paris.  He was freaking amazing.  After about 30 seconds of searching this is the only video I can come up with.  The acoustics and recording are pretty bad.  Sorry.

Uh, if it only happens once, its unique. If it doesn't happen at all, its not anything.

Sadly, the 1st video has disabled embedding.. and its one of her best.  I highly
recommend clicking on the video to open the link directly.

Heres another great vid I caught.   Im not a bass expert at all.. but from what I
hear.. it just amazing stuff.

In many songs it almost seems the bass is invisible.  Maybe its my lack of being able to
separate the sounds...  but there is a distinct difference between certain bands
bass,  such as Level 42, or  Iron Maiden...  where bass is very easy to hear, clear,
and very detailed.

Ah, ---smurfin--- righteous. I guess I shouldn't be surprised someone's finally done and posted this. By the way, this piece is a few decades old. Turn up your speakers and pay special attention to the spoken part.

Hmm . . . it's still poor use of the word, IMO.  That it has developed a secondary meaning through rampant misuse just makes the word less effective.  Unique can now mean either unique or not unique.  Stupid.

I just jump off the wagon, so to speak, and remove the word from my functioning vocabulary. But I'm, ah, visionary, remember?  (HMHMHMMHMHMHM.)
