  • I want my own arcade controls!
everytime i start my computer in my cabinet then with my tv remote turn on my tv it goes to the s-video screen but says unusable signal. in order to get video i hit input on the remote which turns it to chanel 3 then i hit input again and it works?  i don't understand why it does not recieve the s-video signal the first time. it needs to be refreshed to get it to grab the video from the computer. i have a radeon 7500 with s-video connected anyone have this problem.or know a fix i can try

I have a 27" tv with the same problem. It uses the same channel for both composit and s-video. Whichever signal it is getting, it uses. It defaults to composit first so if there is no signal from s-video and no signal from composit it shows nothing even if a signal starts to come from s-video. If, while it shows nothing, you give it a signal from composit, I bet it would show the picture from that.  About the only thing I can think of to do is somehow delay the power to the tv until the computer is giving a signal from the s-video. I am not sure how you can do that but maybe someone here can. Good luck.

I got an idea. Mail it to me I'll tell you if I can get it working or not. It'll only cost you a 32" TV.  ;D j/k

Sorry, I really can't help you out there.

What happens when you wait just a bit?  I've got an RCA TV that does the same thing.  I just wait a few seconds, and it comes up with the BIOS screen okay.

Now, what I DO find annoying about this TV is if the signal degrades even just a hair, I get the 'Unusable Signal' screen.  I had to attach my NES to another TV as it would flash this about every five seconds, rendering games unplayable (well, not unplayable, but extremely distracting...)

Go to The Rage 3D forum. They talk about ATI cards there.
